Lois Inez Driggers Braswell, 81, of Tifton died Monday, February 25, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eddie Allen and Rev. Gilbert Hinson will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Michael Sorensen, Stan Johnson, Darrell Braswell, Michael Braswell, David Braswell and Terry Rowland will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Pippin, Robert Pippin, Michael Pippin, Larry Driggers, Raymond Driggers, Ira Powers, Jr., and Paul Powers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Braswell was born on March 1, 1926 in Tift County and was the daughter of Henry F. Driggers and Alma J. Godbolt Driggers, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. "Buddy" Braswell, Sr., one daughter, Lois Dianne Braswell, one brother, Arthur Driggers; and one sister, Pauline Barfield. She was a homemaker and a member of Chula First Baptist Church in Chula. She was a lifelong resident of Tift County; a loving mother and grandmother; and loved fishing.
Ms. Braswell is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, E. Ray Braswell, Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Brunswick, James F. "Jimmy" Braswell and his wife, Linda, of Tifton, and Billy G. Braswell and his wife, Brenda, of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy J. Hatley and her husband, Henry, of Tifton; one sister, Irma Gladys Woodard of Tifton; ten grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
