MILLBURY___Rojean Elias (Samia) Ciuffredo, of Millbury, died Friday February 22, 2008 after a long battle with lung cancer surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Worcester on October 3, 1932, the daughter of Elias and Josephine (Alekel) Samia and was raised by her second mother, Tspina Abraham, all of whom predeceased her.
She leaves her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Michael F. Ciuffredo, Sr. and six children, Steven T. Reeks of Worcester; E. John Reeks and his wife Mary of Millbury; Michelle F. Sargent and her husband Glenn of Worcester; Michael F. “Chick” Ciufrredo, Jr. and his wife Doreen of Millbury; Paulajean F. Healy and her husband Steven of Worcester and Sandra F. Frazier and her husband Travis of Millbury. She also leaves her brother Edward E. Samia and his wife Marie of Rochdale; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew and her best friend of over 50 years, Rita Desimone of Worcester.
Mrs. Ciuffredo loved and was known for her knitting and crocheting ablity and made many of her own patterns. She also loved celebrating both Christmas and Easter because of the special significance they hold to her due to images of family and friends, past and present they represented to her. She was an avid animal lover and leaves behind her poodle, Candy.
Mrs. Ciuffredo was a licensed barber and worked in a number of area shops and was retired from Presmet Corp.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester with burial immediately following in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Tuesday February 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the VNA Care Network – Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, Ma, 01608 or to The Friendly House, 36 Wall Street, Worcester, Ma, 01604.
