DRACUT - Pauline T. (Jette) Dowling, age 81, a resident of Dracut, and former longtime Lowell resident, died in her sleep, Friday February 22nd at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert P. "Bert" Dowling who died March 8, 2006.
She was born in Lowell on December 26, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Bernadette (Frenette) Jette. She received her education in Lowell schools.
Mrs. Dowling spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family. She had also worked part-time at D'Youville Senior Care for many years.
In her free time she enjoyed bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games.
She is survived by four sons, David Dowling of Florida, John and his Joan Dowling of Chelmsford, Stephen and his wife Susan Dowling of Dracut and James Dowling and his longtime companion Roberta Maslanka of California. "Memere" will be sorely missed by her four grandchildren Kathryn Dowling of Tyngsboro, Kristen Dowling of Chelmsford, Courtney Dowling of Acton and Karen Dowling of Dracut. She was also survived by her sister-in-law Claire Dowling of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lafayette Jette, Alice (Buote) Richards, and Lillian Beaudoin.
Pauline's family would like to thank the staff of D'Youville Senior Care for the wonderful care that they provided to her throughout the years.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 10 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel in Chelmsford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
