Obituary

William D. “Bill” Hart Jr., 79 years, formerly of Stoughton, died peacefully Feb. 21, 2008 at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Brockton. He was born in Hyde Park and a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Coast Guard where he served in both World War II and the Korean War. Bill lived in Stoughton for 49 years and was employed by Boston Edison for 35 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, associate member of the Third Order of Saint Francis, VFW, Knights of Columbus and American Legion. After retirement, he enjoyed working as auxiliary police for the Stoughton Police Department.

Mr. Hart leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Petra (Galan) Hart of West Palm Beach, FL; his daughters, Betty Jane Sperry of San Diego, CA and Patricia A. Hart of Brockton.

A private funeral service was held. Donations in Bill’s memory may be sent to the MSPCA Metro South Animal Care and Adoption Center, 1300 West Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301.
