Evelyn Therese (Seretto) Hunt a longtime resident of Medford and resident of Pinellas Park, Florida, died Thursday at Wingate Nursing Center. She was 88.
Mrs. Hunt was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late Phillip and the late Rosina (Quatrale) Seretto. She grew up opposite Trum Field and graduated from Somerville High with the class of 1937. Evelyn worked for the Medford welfare Dept. for several years and was a clerk in the Bankrupsty Court for many years. She was a member of the Logan Post of Somerville, the Malden Eagles and the Red Hats of Medford. She was an active woman who enjoyed golf, bowling and line-dancing.
She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore F. Hunt. She was a devoted mother to Betty McKeown and her husband Don of Medford, Theodore “Teddy” Hunt and his wife Karen of Melrose, Jimmy Hunt and his wife Katie of Reading. She was a loving grandmother to Kirk, Craig, Peter, David, Brian, Brandon and Ryan. She was a dear sister to the late Philomena Riley, Claire Cavagnaro, Rose Kelley, Josephine, Michael and Phillip Seretto.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
