Emily L. Lortie, 81

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Emily L. (Cutillo) Lortie, 81 a lifelong resident of Mansfield died on Saturday February 23, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Lortie, Sr. who passed away on August 6, 2007.
Born in Mansfield, MA on February 20, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Michael C. and Rose (Regone) Cutillo.
She grew up in Mansfield and was educated in Mansfield schools. Mrs. Lortie was a retired Candy Packer and had worked for over 20 years at Merckens Chocolate Co. in Mansfield prior to retiring. She had previously been employed at the former Fairfield Optical Co. also in Mansfield.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Emily enjoyed knitting, and her family will always remember her exceptional skills in cooking and baking.
She is survived by her devoted sons Arthur J. Lortie, Jr. and his wife Judith of Plainville and Robert F. Lortie of Mansfield, her loving granddaughter Janelle A. Long of North Attleboro. She was the sister of Samuel Cutillo of Mansfield, John Cutillo of Fountain Hills, Arizona and the late Joseph Cutillo and Anna Burgess, sister in law of Alfred Lortie of Attleboro and the late Lorraine Grady, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday February 27th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 26th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
