METHUEN – Barbara R.(DiGloria) Ritter age 60 died Wednesday February 20, 2008 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
Born in Lawrence, MA, she was raised in North Andover and graduated from North Andover High School with the Class of 1966. Barbara was a day care provider which led to her becoming a foster parent for DSS in Lawrence. During her years as a foster parent she received several commendations for her work and dedication in foster parenting including 2 commendations from former Governor Dukakis, Village Hero Award.
In her over 20 years of providing outstanding foster care, she made a significant impact on the lives of over 130 children. Barbara will live on in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished her.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, William J. Ritter of Methuen.

Brother Rocco DiGloria, Jr., and his wife Rosa of Methuen and sister Joan and her husband Steven Gingras of Atkinson, NH.
Sons Jason, Ted and David
Daughters Kendra, Nikki, Vanessa, Dawn, Naomi, Melissa and Yvonne.
She also leaves sons, daughters –in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and many cherished grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Monday from 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Memorial service and burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
