Dorothy G. Robbins, 88

Dateline: Norton, MA

Dorothy G. (Newcomb) Robbins, 88, a lifelong resident of Norton died on Friday February 22, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Robbins, Sr. who passed away on May 25, 1996.
Born in Norton, Ma on August 16, 1919 she was a daughter of the late John E. and Lillian M. (Watson) Newcomb.
She grew up in Norton was educated in Norton schools and was a 1936 graduate of Norton High School. A retired Enamel Charger, Mrs. Robbins had worked at the former Chartley Enameling Co. in Norton for over 13 years prior to retiring.
A member of the Trinitarian Congregational church in Norton, Dorothy was also a former member of the church choir and the What-So-Ever Club.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and most of all being in the presence of her loving family.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted sons Raymond “Leslie” Robbins, Jr. and James E. Robbins both of Norton, her granddaughter Jillian A. Robbins of Norton. She was the sister of the late James E. Newcomb, Harrison E. Newcomb, Lillian E. Bornas, Laura I. Smith and Clara M. Strojny, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Sunday March 9th at 1:30 P.M. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will be in the Norton Center Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers Dorothy’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Memorial Fund at the Trinitarian Congregational church P.O. Box 2068 Norton, MA 02766
