Patrick Henry Catino, 75, of Stoneham formerly of Medford died peacefully on February 20, 2008 after a brief illness, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Patrick Paul Catino and the late Theresa (Amoroso) Catino. A Stoneham resident for the past 23 years, Pat worked for 40 years as a civil engineer and Highway Inspector with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. After his retirement he was the juice bar manager at Planet Fitness in Somerville and Tewksbury, formerly World Gym. Throughout his life Pat was a Boston Sports fan. He followed and supported the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics in good-times and bad and almost never missed a game. Above all Mr. Catino was a dedicated family man who truly enjoyed the company of all his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted father who raised his children in Medford. A kind and gentle man, Mr. Catino will be missed by the many people who touched his life.
He was the beloved husband and best friend of Lucy (Giannelli) Catino with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Steven Catino and his wife Theresa of Stoneham, Patrick H. Catino, Jr. and his wife Lucinda of Saugus, Domenic Catino and his wife Lisa of Saugus, the late Patrick Paul Catino and Theresa Louise Catino. He was a loving “Peepa” to Michaela, Briana, Haley, Brooke, Stephanie, Patrick III, and Domenic. He was a dear brother to Ann Errico and her husband Jack of Winchester, Grace Alongi and her husband Joseph of Stoneham, Richard Catino and his wife Rose of Medford, Joseph Catino and his wife Donna of Billerica. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
