BEVERLY: Lillian S. Hutchinson, 82, of 399 Essex Street, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at her home.
Born in Beverly on March 14, 1925, she was one of five children of the late Harry J. and Mary J. (MacCormack) Hutchinson. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and attended Beverly public schools.
Lillian was employed as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for forty years and was a member of the Telephone Workers Pioneers of America and the Beverly Council of Aging. She spent many years as a very active volunteer at the Senior Center, the Girdler House and with The Helping Hand.
Lillian lived quietly and with grace, and never sought recognition for all she did. She has left her mark on many lives and will be greatly missed by her family and close friends.
Her funeral services will be privately held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly at the convenience of the family. At her request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly.
