Ervin Duane Smith Ervin Duane Smith, 60, Woodlawn, TN, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Thursday and from 10 am until the hour of the service Friday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 18, 1948 in Pulaski, Virginia son of Worley Smith and Halli Carlton French. He served in the US Navy and served three tours in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW 11160 and a lifetime member of DAV. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother of Pulaski, VA; his wife, Donna Farmer Smith, Woodlawn; sons, Brian David Smith and Adam Joseph Smith, Tiny Flats, TN; step-son, Michael Scott Gooding, South Carolina; step-daughters Christy Diane Key, Colbert, Georgia; Ashley Nicole Caragine, Yonkers, NY; a sister, Joan Elaine Thomas, Pulaski, VA; and nine grandchildren.
