Obituary

Leonard L. Stahly of Londonderry, New Hampshire and formerly of Salem, New Hampshire died Wednesday night at Harborside Northwoods Nursing Home in Bedford NH. at the age of 83

Mr. Stahly was born and educated in Boston, MA. He retired from Raytheon Company in 1988 after nearly 20 years of service as a Logistics Engineer, where he lived and worked in many different countries including living with his family in Karlsruhe, Germany as well as Teheran, Iran He served his country for 26 years for the US Army retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer.

He most notably and heroically participated in the D-Day of Normandy as a Paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne and fought in the Battle of the Bulge under General George C. Patton. He later was stationed in Germany where he met his wife of 24 years, Rosemarie.

He was a member of the Salem, NH VFW Memorial Post # 8546 and the Retired Officers Association

Family members include his wife Rosemarie (Hauck) Stahly of Londonderry, NH

1 son, Andreas Stahly and his wife Melissa of Londonderry, NH

3 daughters, Cheryl Lynn of California Barbara Stahly of California Susanne Staedtlaender of Germany

1 brother, Martin Stahly of Manomet, MA

1 sister, Marie Eisan of Dorchester, MA

9 grandchildren,several great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00pm the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Main Street in Salem, New Hampshire followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery also in Salem.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
