Mr. Francesco DeGregorio, age 78, died at home in Wilmington after a lengthy illness. Born in Mirabella, Italy, Francesco was the devoted son of the late Guglielmina (Masciola) and Antonio DeGregorio.
A Wilmington resident for the last 3 years, Francesco and his wife Bruna (Ferrari) are formerly of Medford. Francesco was a mason and worked for The Waterproofing Company of Boston for over 30 years. He retired in 1987. A Korean War veteran, he served proudly from March 1951 to March 1953. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his loving grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife Bruna, Francesco is survived by his devoted children, Anthony DeGregorio and his wife Donna, Maria Abernethy and her husband Craig all of Wilmington. Loving grandfather of Emma and Frankie DeGregorio of Wilmington. Brother of Antonia DeSimone and her husband Raffaele, Giuditta DeSimone and her husband Alfonso, Pino DeGregorio and his wife Claudia all of Italy, John DeGregorio and his wife Mary of Everett, and the late Concettina D´Assisi and her late husband Riccardo.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
