Obituary

CHELMSFORD—Theresa A. (Capra) Benedict, 97 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, and more recently of Tyngsboro, died late Monday evening at the Palm Manor Nursing Home, in Chelmsford.

She was born in Torino Italy, on May 16, 1910, a daughter of the late John and Francesca (Quallorto) Capra, and was a graduate of The Robert Bent Brigham Nursing Program, in Boston.

For many years she had been employed as a private duty L.P.N. She also had a very successful Electrology business from her home. She will be most remembered for her spaghetti sauce and meatballs.

Surviving her are a daughter: Sandra A. Benedict, of NH; two grandchildren: Darsi, and her husband Charles Emerson, of Tyngsboro; and John McCarthy, of Newburyport; five great-grandchildren: Justin P. McCarthy, and Maura K. McCarthy, both of Westford; and Jessica M. Price, of Groton; Joan K. Emerson, and Charles B. Emerson, both of Tyngsboro; a great-great-grandson: Ethan Price; also several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late: John F. Capra, Peter C. Capra, and Janet Manning, her constant companion.
Friends may call from 9 until 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 21st at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM Thursday at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Alternative House; P.O. Box 2100; Lowell, MA 01854.
