Jeffrey Gloria 46, died unexpectedly Saturday February 16th in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was the loving son of Elizabeth P. (Andrews) Gloria of Taunton and the late John Gloria, Jr.
Born in Brockton and raised in Hanson he was a graduate of Whitman Hanson Regional High School.
Jeffrey joined the US Navy immediately after high school and remained with the Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1999. For seven years after retirement he was a civilian worker for the US Navy in San Diego, doing war simulations.
He had lived in San Diego for over 20 years before returning to the area where he resided in Taunton for the last 2 years.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his sister Melissa G. Tobias and her husband Chadwick of Hanson, and his nieces Kaitlynn and Alyson. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles. He was the brother of the late John E. and Gail L. Gloria.
His funeral will be held Thursday February 21st at 11 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel; Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a mass at 12 Noon in the St. Joseph The Worker Church, Hanson.
Burial will be at later date. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday February 20th from 4 – 8 PM. Donation may be made in his name to the Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7295.
