Obituary

Lawrence M. Foley, 70, of Bartley Hill Rd., Londonderry, NH died February 4, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Wilmington, MA on February 7, 1932, a son of the late George and Rose (Cottreau) Foley. He was a resident of Londonderry since 1972, formerly living in Wilmington, MA. Mr. Foley was a graduate of Wilmington High School in Wilmington, MA. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1950 – 1972. He had been employed by the Veterans Administration in Manchester, NH, as a shipping and receiving clerk until retiring in 1995. Mr. Foley was a life member and past commander of the VFW Post #8546 of Salem, a past grand commander for the state of NH, and a commander for the Military Order of the Cooties, District #1. He enjoyed gardening and deep sea fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Olga (Lang) Foley of Londonderry, two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Susan) Parker of Londonderry, Mrs. Russell (Mary) Goodnow of Londonderry, one son, George (wife Diana) Foley of Hooksett, NH, seven grandchildren, three brothers, George A. Foley Sr. of Wilmington, MA, Thomas Foley of Cottage Grove, TN, Robert Foley of Pelham, NH, two sisters, Marion Nee of Wilmington, MA, Phyllis Ellenwood of Napaville, IL, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The burial will be in the Spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 8. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sonshine Soup Kitchen, 4 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038 or to the NH Veterans Home, Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
