WEBSTER – Helen B. Dziedzic, 88, of 129 Lake Street, died Saturday, Feb. 9, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center after a short illness.
She leaves a brother, John Dziedzic and his wife Jane of Webster; her niece and constant companion, Dorothy “Dottie” Kasierski of Webster; four nephews, Robert Hencinski of Albany, GA, George Hencinski of Colleyville, TX, George Dziedzic of Webster and John Dziedzic of Dudley; several grandnieces and grandnephews. Her sister, Stasia T. Hencinski, died in 2004 and her grandnephew, Joseph G. Hencinski, died in 1999.
She was born in Webster, the youngest child of George and Mary (Stalec) Dziedzic and was a lifelong resident. She attended Bartlett High School.
Miss Dziedzic worked in the Cluett-Peabody Mill and in the Taftville Mill, both in Connecticut. She then worked in the shipping department of Webster Lens before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Holy Rosary Sodality and Saint Anne Society.
She was also an adorer and “cleaning angel” at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. She enjoyed reading, doing cutwork, traveling and growing her annual flower and vegetable garden.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 1, in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to either the Friends of St. Joseph School Fund or to the St. Joseph Basilica Debt Reduction Fund, both 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
