Russell J. Charpentier, 60, of New Bedford died February 16, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Catherine T. (Tighe) Charpentier.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Louis and Rose (Pestana) Charpentier, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown.
Mr. Charpentier was employed as an insurance broker and was formerly employed at Northern Wind Seafood.
He was a member of the Wamsutta Club and was a professional keyboard player.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Ryan J. Charpentier of Hollywood, CA and Edward-Louis "Ned" Charpentier of San Diego, CA; his sisters and brother in law, Patricia Granger, Margaret Bibby, Frances Gregory and Edward J. Tighe, Jr.; and many cousins.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 23rd at 11 AM in St. John Neumann Church, East Freetown. Visiting hours are omitted. Directions to church can be found on the churches website at www.sjnfreetown.org.
