Obituary

Elizabeth M. (Nestor) Wilder, age 57, of Windham, NH died Friday, February 15, 2008 at home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.
Elizabeth, the daughter of the late Norma B. (Durgin) and James J. Nestor, was born and raised in Winthrop, MA. She received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Boston University in 1973. For the last thirty-two years she has lived in Windham, NH with her husband of thirty-four years, Russell. It was there that the couple built their life and raised their three children.
Elizabeth worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency in the early 1970s where she met Russell. After their marriage, the couple built their home in Windham where she became a devoted mother to her children and their friends. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, baking, and decorating cakes for those she loved and welcomed into her home. She was an active member of the community as a member of the Windham Garden Club and Co-Director of Volunteers at the Searles Castle for many years. She loved Searles Castle and was dedicated to its restoration and preservation.
She is sadly missed by her husband: Russell J. Wilder of Windham, NH; son: Daniel J. Wilder of Somerville, MA; daughters: Stephanie M. Wilder of Melrose, MA; and Lindsey S. Wilder of Windham, NH; brother: Thomas and his wife Mary Nestor of Wakefield, MA; sisters: Kathryn and her husband Robert Holland of Reading, MA; and Helen L. Pullin of Winthrop, MA; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 18 from 4–8PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 11 AM at the Church of the Transfiguration, Hood Road, Derry, NH. Burial will follow in Cemetery on the Plain, Windham, NH.
