Virginia D. Gelinas, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, February 15, 2008 in the Haven Health Center in Derry. Mrs. Gelinas was born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Dr. Walter S. and Clara (Swanburg) Duffee. She was a resident of Londonderry for the past 32 years, formerly living in Maple Glen, PA and Derry, NH. Mrs. Gelinas graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry in 1932, and had attended NH State (UNH). She had been a long time member of the Nashua Country Club. Mrs. Gelinas loved to drive, and enjoyed summers in Wells Beach, ME with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Richard B. Gelinas of Derry, and Peter A. Gelinas and his wife Lynn of Maple Glen, PA; two grandsons, Scott R. Gelinas and his wife Rebecca of W. Lind, OR, and Greg P. Gelinas of Charlotte, NC; two great-granddaughters, Gabrielle Gelinas, and Sophia Gelinas; and her sister-in-law, Doris Dwinnell of Haverhill, MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Raymond A. Gelinas in 1999.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
