TEWKSBURY - Angelo J. Capua, age 70, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, at his North Tewksbury home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Barbara T. (Rowley) Capua, with whom he had celebrated a 48th wedding anniversary this past July 26th.
He was born in Woburn, Nov. 14, 1931, a son of the late Peter and Rose (Petroncielli) Capua, and lived in Woburn until moving to Tewksbury in 1962. He graduated Woburn High School and attended Northeastern University.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman, with the European occupation forces.
Mr. Capua was active in St. William's Parish as a member of the Men's Club, and was also a member of the Fr. Coppens K of C Council 4336 in Tewksbury.
He retired from Avco-Textron Systems in Wilmington as a supervisor.
In his retirment, he had enjoyed winters at his home in Bradenton, Fla. and vacation traveling. Throughout his life, he enjoyed vegetable gardening.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Ann Asadoorian of Hudson, NH, Rosemary and her husband Andrew "Andy" Sailus of Brockport, NY, a son and daughter-in-law, John M. and his wife Deborah (Halamoutis) Capua of Tewksbury, with whom Mr. Capua resided, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Fernando Capua of Woburn, Peter and his wife Florence (Pietrantonio) Capua of Winchester, Rosario and his wife Lois (Mastroianni) Capua of Woburn, and nine grandchildren, Joel and Joy Asadoorian, Monica, Rebecca, and Cheri Sailus, James, Christina, Jason, and Stephen Capua.
He was also father of the late Mark S. Capua.
His Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Dec. 22, in St. William's Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Gift Department, 1309 Beacon St, Brookline, MA 02446 will be appreciated.
