Obituary

Alma C. (Nessle) Finley, 82, of Mattapoisett died Tuesday February 4, 2003 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Rev. Donald H. Finley, to whom she was married for 61 years.

Born in Glens Falls, New York, the daughter of the late Irma and Thomas Nessle, she was raised in Kingston, New York, and had lived in Mattapoisett since 1967. She was a 1941 graduate of Kingston Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.

Mrs. Finley was formerly employed at Tobey Hospital in Wareham for 23 years before her retirement in 1990. She had been the charge nurse of the medical/surgical unit, and later worked in the operating room and emergency room.

Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Lynn T. Finley, and his wife Joyce, of North Providence, RI, and Brian T. Finley, and his wife Laura, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; a daughter, Marcia E. Bradley, and her husband David, of Milford, NH; 9 grandchildren, Bryan Scott Finley, Christopher M. Finley, Daryl Finley, MacKenzie Douglas Carnegie, Jonathan Finley, Julie Finley, Jeffrey Durso-Finley, Charlotte Bradley and Colin Bradley; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 8, 2003 at 3 PM in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. Burial in Cushing Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett Friday February 7, 2003 from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Southcoast Hospice, 28 Sconticut Neck Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
