Vincent M. Salafia, 91, a resident of Methuen, MA., passed away on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Melilli Siracusa Italy, Mr. Salafia came to the Lawrence area as a young boy. He was educated in Italy as well as the Lawrence Schools.
Mr. Salafia worked in construction for some 55 years having worked for S.T. Torrisi Construction Company. A United States Navy Veteran, Mr. Salafia served during World War II in Saipan as a Seaman first Class. He was a member of Local 175-A.F.L.C.I.O as well as the American Legion and the Sons of Italy. Mr. Salafia was also a long time member of the Methuen Rod and Gun Club.
His hobbies included Hunting, Fishing, Golf and Masonary.

daughter: Maureen Robichaud and her husband Joseph of Haverhill, MA.
brother: Thomas Salafia and his wife Rose of Methuen, MA
4 grandchildren: Michelle Salafia, Dr. Vincent Salafia, Heidi Roy, and Dr. Kim Rondinelli. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Salafia was grandfather of the late Frankie Salafia.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Lucy's Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends may call on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
