Obituary

Keith R. Holbrook 86, died Tuesday February 12th after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mary B. (Eddy) Holbrook.

Born and raised in Whitman, where he remained a life long resident he was the son of the late Stanley and Gertrude (Mahan) Holbrook. He was a graduate of Whitman High School and also attended MIT for one year.

He was a veteran of World War II having served as a Carpenters Mate 2c in the US Navy from 1942-1945 and was stationed aboard the USS Hornet in the Pacific. He became a life time member of the VFW #697 of Whitman.

Keith worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #33 and worked with his father from 1948-1954 and then for LW Holbrook Co. from 1954-1979.

He enjoyed gardening and was a stamp collector.

He is survived by his children Paula Kerrigan of Raynham and Gary K. Holbrook and his wife Karen of Halifax, his brother Leslie Holbrook of Florida and Alwyn Holbrook of Whitman, his grandchildren Kaitlyn and Drew Kerrigan of Raynham, Courtney Wyman, and Kristin Kerrigan of Taunton, his great grandchildren Noah Jordan of Raynham and Aidyan Wyman of Taunton, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Fred and Malcolm Holbrook.

His funeral will be held Wednesday February 20th at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
Burial will follow in the MA Veteran’s Cemetery, Bourne @ 12:30 PM. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday February 19th from 4-8 PM. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Assoc. 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701 www.strokeassociation.org
