Walter Howard Cooper, Sr., 89, of Tifton died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Roger Tucker will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 15, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Cooper was born on September 24, 1918 in Tift County and was the son of Willie Harrison Cooper and Clara Ann Hyger Cooper, both deceased. He was a farmer and a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Gracie Stone Cooper of Tifton; one son, W. H. Cooper, Jr. of Cordele; and one daughter, Betty Ruth Grimm of Vero Beach, Florida.
