Robert “Buster” Longo a life-long Medford resident, died Tuesday at the Bedford Veteran’s Hospital. He was 62.
Buster was raised in Medford, the son of the late Athos and the late Mary (Ferucci) Longo. After High School, he served in the Air Force in Vietnam. After his service in the war, Buster was appointed to the Medford Police Department. He attended Northeastern University and earned a BS degree in Criminal Justice. He served on the department many years, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He is remembered as a loving and devoted father and a dedicated friend to many.
He was a loving and devoted father to Christopher and Elyssa, both of Weymouth. He was a dear brother to Marie Carter of Marshfield, Rose Nolan of Salem, NH, the late Athos and Caro Longo and Judith Sinclair.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
