Obituary

Mr. Herbert P. Murray, beloved husband of Patti-Lou (Myers) Murray, died on February 12, 2008. He was 83 years old.
Born in Cumberland, Maryland, on February 3, 1924, Mr. Murray was the beloved son of the late Emmet and Florence Murray. Herb joined a brother Robert and sister Rita. When he was 13 years old, the family moved to Scarsdale, New York and later to Akron, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Akron where he met his wife to be, Patti-Lou Myers. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He worked for over 40 years in sales in the packaging industry. Herb and Patti-Lou enjoyed doing extensive traveling in the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia and China. They also enjoyed numerous cruises, including Alaska, the Greek Isles and the Black Sea.
Herb attended St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover, where he sang in the Choir for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A great joy in his life were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Patti-Lou (Myers) Murray, daughter; Catherine of Newburyport, John and his wife Jean (Farrington) of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Robert and his wife Maggi (Meyers), their children Christopher and Elaine of Byfield, MA, also Michael and his wife Joanne (Petrulavage) and their children, Elise, Benjamin and Joseph of Ridgefield, Connecticut.
A funeral mass was celebrated in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett’s Pond Road, Andover, on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home 390 North Main Street, Andover, Friday, February 15, 2008, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Burial was be private.
