Husani akinlana Darryl Flether Jr., age 4 , of 191 Virgo Drive, Groton, died Tuesday Monday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cerebral palsey.
Husani was the son of Jacqueline Cortes and Husani akinlana Darryl Fletcher, both of Groton. He was currently attending preschool at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. Husani was also a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal nation.
In addition to his parents, Husani leaves his siblings, Nahshon Brian Fletcher, Nazheim Kyier Cortes and Justyce Fletcher; his grandparents, Awilda Santiago, Angel Santiago, Manuel Cortes, Sharon Moltz; great grandparent, Carmen Gonzales. He was predeceased by family members, Brian Fletcher, Artemio Santisteban, and Betty Fletcher.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. A Service will be conducted at the Pleasant Street Baptist Church, Westerly (401-596-1923) on Thursday at 10am. Pastor Joshua McClure, will officate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich.
