New Bedford – John Mularczyk, 95, of New Bedford died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born in New Bedford and a lifelong resident of the city, he was son of the late Jozef and Agnieszka (Prejznar) Mularczyk.
John worked for many years at Berkshire Hathaway and was the owner of a popular south end laundromat. He and his brothers Frank and Michael were avid sports fishermen and together they owned a bass boat named “Little One”.
Survivors include his most precious friend and confidante Wendy Galligan and her husband Steven; a brother Michael; 2 nieces: Nancy and Joan; dear friends: Jerry, Jane & Tommy; many acquaintances in the community and at Whaler’s Cove; 2 children: Robert & Arlene; and several grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother Frank, sister Mary, nephew Michael and 2 ex-wives, Ora & Elvira.
A great lover of dogs, donations may be made in his memory to Forever Paws Animal Shelter, 300 Lynwood St., Fall River, MA 02721, a no-kill shelter.
In accordance with his wishes he was cremated and there will be no services.
