WORCESTER-Elizabeth Chandler (Bullock) Barton, 93, of Worcester, died Wednesday, January 16th, at her home. She was born in Worcester March 7, 1914, the daughter of Rockwood H. and Elizabeth (Dewey) Bullock, and attended Bancroft School and Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut. She was the first wife of the late Charles Sumner Barton of Southborough, President of Rice Barton Corporation. A volunteer nurse’s aide, and was assigned to Memorial Hospital during World War II. She was a professional craftsperson, producing hand knit sweaters through B and B Knitters, a business she established with a friend. Mrs. Barton was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Augustus George Bullock 2nd who died in 1997, and Francis Dewey Bullock who died in 1994; and a sister, Mary Chandler (Bullock) Johnson, who died in 2001. She leaves a daughter, Rebecca Dewey Barton-Zuckerman, and her partner, Penny of Storrs, Connecticut, and a son, George Sumner Barton II of Lima, Peru and Key Biscayne, Florida. Her grandchildren are Man-Lei Barton-Zuckerman and Maya Barton-Zuckerman of Storrs, CT; Michelle Llona, Vanessa Barton and Jennifer Barton of Lima, Peru and Nicole Barton of Henniker, NH. In addition, she leaves great grandchildren Rodolfo Stornfelt, Pablo Emilio Llona and Joachin Llona of Lima, Peru and Joshua Barton of Cajamarca, Peru, her daughter-in-law Penny Barton-Zuckerman, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Ellen Rogers Kennedy Memorial Chapel at Rural Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
