Eva M. Smith, 86 of Londonderry, NH died Sunday February 10, 2008 in the Ridgewood Center, Bedford, NH. Mrs. Smith was born in Medford, MA on January 23, 1922 the daughter of the late George A. and Winifred (Gray) Russell. She was a graduate of Medford High School Class of 1940 where she played the trumpet. Mrs. Smith was an active Girl Scout leader in Medford for many years. She was considered a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-nana.
She is survived by three daughters, Winifred Pineault and her husband John of High Point, NC, Roberta D’Eon of N. Hampton, NH, Doreen Hahnl and her husband Alexander Sr. of Londonderry, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, also one niece and one nephew. She was predeceased by her son, George R. Smith in 1968 and also by her son-in-law, James D’Eon.
Calling hours were held on Thursday February 14, 2008 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in Calvary Christian Church, Temple St., Lynnfield, MA. The burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
