Eva met her husband Butch at the Myles Standish demarcation camp in Taunton shortly after World War II. They soon married and raised their family in Taunton. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary’s church, where she sang in their choir for many years.
She was a very kind and caring Mother whose career was devoted to providing a warm and loving home for her family. Eva was a terrific cook and a wonderful pie maker following in the footsteps of her mother Alice. She was involved in many activities in her youth with her sisters including such things as canning vegetables grown in her garden, weekly bingo parties, sewing dresses for a local entrepreneur and Saturday night poker games with her nine brothers and sisters and their spouses. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan and in her youth played basketball with her sisters at the Girls Club on Dean Street. She also loved the beaches of Cape Cod and enjoyed many summers at Mitchell’s Cottages in Brewster with her family.
In her later years she and Butch spent many winters with their son David in Florida. And nothing pleased her more than being at home over the Holidays with her family.
