Salem: John A. Castonguay, age 75 of Salem, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Lucille A. (Tierney) Castonguay, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Albert and Valeda I. (Tremblay) Castonguay. A graduate of Salem High, he served with the Army during the Korean Conflict. John first worked for Parker Brothers of Salem, but for many years worked in security for the Hogan Regional Center. With his health beginning to fail, he was required to take an early retirement, but continued to have an active interest in music, sports and cooking.
In addition to his wife Lucille, he is survived by his daughter, Diane M. Castonguay of Salem, his sister Aline Irish and her husband Charles of Sandown, NH, several nieces, nephews and cousins,
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 10:30 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11 am. Visiting hours will precede his funeral from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
