Albert A. “Al” Brenner 83 of East Bridgewater died Sunday February 10th in the Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the husband for 56 years of Mildred (Baer) Brenner.
Born in Boston and raised in Roslindale he was the son of the late Albert and Leopoldina (Silaber) Brenner, and a graduate of Roslindale High School.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy from 1943-1946.
He was a 40 year resident of East Bridgewater, and had previously lived a short time in Switzerland as well as Abington.
Al worked at the Jewelers’ Building in Boston and later for Codman & Shurtleff of Rockland making surgical instruments; he retired from the East Bridgewater School System where he worked as a custodian.
He was a member of the VFW #697 of Whitman, and enjoyed bowling and bird watching. He especially loved and enjoyed his cats.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Heidi Ibanez and her husband Robertino of Brockton, his brother Paul Brenner of Roslindale, his two nieces and a nephew, Jean Hutchinson of Clinton, MA and Laurie and David Brenner of GA. He was the brother of the late Robert Brenner.
Visitation will be held Thursday February 14th from 4-7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All other services omitted per request of the family.
