Mr. Thomas F. DeVito, age 72, died February 10, 2008 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, after a brief illness. Born in Woburn, Tom was the beloved son of the late Rose H. (Giffune) DeVito & D. Thomas DeVito.
Tom was a lifelong Woburn resident. He was a member of the Woburn Elks, and was a Past Exalted Ruler, 1968-1969. He was a member of the Woburn Country Club where he enjoyed golfing and was also an avid bowler.
Tom wintered in Florida for the past 20 years. He worked for the Atlantic Gelatin Food Co. of Woburn, in the personal dept., before retiring in 1991, after 37 years of service.
In addition to his parents Tom was the beloved brother of Jean O´Connor and her husband Larry, Paul DeVito and Janet DeVito all of Woburn. Dear nephew of Lucy DeVito of Woburn. Loving uncle of Debbie Igo of Maine, Donna Metaxas of Newton, Larry O´Connor Jr., of Vermont, Mark O´Connor of Hudson, MA, Lori Jean DeVito of Woburn and Paul DeVito of Hudson, NH. Also survived by 6 loving great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
