Obituary

Worcester – Damon E. Cook, 56, of Worcester died peacefully on February 9th, in St. Vincent Hospital after a 14 year battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Damon is survived by his wife of 23 years Jo-Ann M. (Cross) Cook of Worcester; a son Robert MacDamon; four daughters Caetlin E. Cook, Abigail A.Cook, Shannon F. Cook all of Worcester and Tansey E. Cook – Dunn of Norwood, MA; three sisters Carol Prestige of Chicago, IL, Willene Caroll of Worcester and Faye Stevens of Worcester; a sister-in-law Eileen Mulcahy of Attleboro; a close friend who Damon loved like a daughter, Sarah Sanchez of Boston; four grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a brother G. Allen Cook.

He was born in Worcester son of Robert A. and Alyce B. (Damon) Cook and graduated form Umass Amherst and Stockbridge where he majored in Horticulture and Flora Culture. Damon worked at Old Sturbridge Village for 25 years as a historical interpreter and retired in 2007. He was a member of the Morningstar Lodge of the Order of the Masons in Worcester and loved spending time with his children, especially at their Irish Step Dancing Competitions. Damon also enjoyed gardening and watching Judge Judy on television.

Family and friends are invited to the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. on Wednesday, February 13th, between 6 and 8 PM. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Why Me Inc. c/o Sherry’s House 1152 Pleasant St. Worcester, MA 01602.
