Marie E. (Belliveau) Connolly, 96, of Fairhaven died Friday February 8, 2008 at Alden Court after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Connolly, Sr.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, on January 8, 1912 to the late Louis and Alice (Fagan) Belliveau, she moved to the United States with her parents and siblings in the 1920s and became a U.S. citizen around 1936.
Mrs. Connolly was formerly employed as a watchmaker for the original Waltham Watch Company during World War II and later as a line supervisor for a small electronics company. She retired in 1965 and moved from Waltham and Wareham.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Waltham and St. Patrick's Church in Wareham.
Survivors include two sons, Walter J. Connolly of Waltham and Paul J. Connolly of Mattapoisett; a sister, Leona Allesandro of Waltham; two brothers, Arthur Belliveau of Albuquerque, NM, and Edward Belliveau of Waltham; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Joseph J. Connolly, Jr. and Marie Connolly.
