Norman J. "DoDo" Patnaude, age 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. For 59 years, he was the beloved husband of Theresa I. (Vallois) Patnaude.
He was born in Lowell on Feb. 1, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Vachon) Patnaude. DoDo was a U.S. Army veteran and a longtime resident of Pelham, NH where he attended St. Patricks Church.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a welder with Magna Industries and also worked in the construction field most of his life.
Dodo had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed horse racing at Rockingham Park along with gardening, fishing and hunting.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Johnnie Joiner of Peekskill, NY and Karen and John Hughes of Midlothian, Virginia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Patnaude of Pelham and Timothy and Cheri Patnaude of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, Kathleen Sullivan, Patricia and John Hughes, Sarah and Alexander Patnaude; four great grandchildren, Nikayla, Anthony, Makayla and Nathaniel; also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ruth Nolin and Raymond Patnaude.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 2 to 5pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick Church, Pelham. Interment will be private.
