Dale W. Lobsien
...machinist, Elk of the Year in 1981; age 66
TEWKSBURY - Dale W. Lobsien, age 66, well known throughout the Merrimack Valley, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 8, at his Tewksbury residence. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Reale) Lobsien, with whom he had celebrated a 47th wedding anniversary this past July 17th.
He was born in Exeter, NH, on January 15, 1942, a son of the late Hans and Beulah (Jones) Lobsien. He had lived in Tewksbury since 1955, and graduated from Lowell Trade School in 1960.
He worked as a machinist, and was the founder of Lobsien Machine, which remains family owned and operated by his son Charles.
He was active in the affairs of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge, # 2070, and was honored by the group as Elk of the Year in 1981.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Charles Lobsien and his wife Cathy Bradley of Wilmington, Kris Lobsien of Tewksbury, Cindy Lobsien of Newport, RI, and Derek Lobsien of Providence, RI; six grandchildren, Jonathan Lobsien, Melissa Lobsien, Nicole Bradley, Kyle Bradley, Zachary Lobsien-Welch, and Amanda Lobsien; a brother, James Lobsien and his wife Lalaine of Huston, TX; his mother-in-law, Frances (Palladino) Reale of Tewksbury; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edward and Patricia Reale, Paula and Howard Scott, and Susan Reale all of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also father of the late William D. Lobsien, who died in 1994.
His Funeral Service was held on Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, in the funeral home. Following cremation, private burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge, Scholarship Fund, 777 South St. Tewksbury, MA are encouraged, and will be appreciated.
