Obituary

METHUEN – Edward F. Whitehead 79 died Friday February 8, 2008 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Methuen, MA, where he was a lifelong resident, he was educated in both Methuen and Lawrence Schools and graduated the Mass Industrial School in Somerville, MA. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. For many years he was a machinist with Standard Box in Chelsea, MA and most recently worked as an electrician with L&M Electric. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and holds the highest award, Silver Beaver and the Vigil Member Order of the Arrow.

The widower of Alice M. (Topping) Whitehead, he leaves his daughter and son, Lee Ann LaRosa-Condon and her husband Michael Condon of Methuen and Kevin Michael Whitehead of Florida.
1 grandson Brent Joseph LaRosa of Fredrick, MD.
He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flower memorials can be made to the Boy Scouts of America Yankee Clipper Council 36 Amesbury Road, Haverhill, MA 01830-2802. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Graveside services will held on Monday at 10:00a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
