Alice D. Gary Breeden, 95, of Tifton died Friday, February 8, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Pastor Pete Daughtry of Albany Bible Church will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date.
Ms. Breeden was born on November 8, 1912 in Brawley, California and was the daughter of Zach Holland Gary and Phoebe Gibbs Owen Gary, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lynn A. Breeden; one son, James L. Breeden; and six siblings. She was a homemaker and a seamstress and a member of Albany Bible Church. Ms. Breeden was a fantastic artist and her paintings, which consisted of landscapes, animals and people are in many homes across the United States. She was very talented in oils, acrylics and water colors. She had lived in Tifton for the last five years as a resident of Maple Court Assisted Living.
Ms. Breeden is survived by two sons, William Gary Breeden of Carson City, Nevada, and Robert Ted Breeden of Carson City, Nevada; one daughter and son-in-law, Caroly and Jim Atkins of Brookfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Owen and Jeanne Gary of Hemet, California; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
