Mildred Anne Bruich Biernat passed into the hands of God on Sunday morning, February 3, 2008 at Deaconess Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was surrounded by her loving husband of sixty years, Ervin Marion Biernat, and her son Gregory Biernat. She was 83.
Mildred was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 12, 1924. She was the second of six children of the late Anna and Josip Bruich. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nick and Milan Bruich, and her sister, Sophie Bruich Miller.
In 1947, Mildred married the love of her life, Ervin of Chicago. True soul-mates, they were blessed with five children, Alexandra, Marsha, Gregory, Michael and Jeffrey.
Above all, Mildred’s truest calling in life was family. She was a devoted mother, whose love, patience and kindness touched her children. The grace with which she faced her illness was her final lesson to them in how to live life with dignity, perseverance and faith. She remained strong and always kept her spirits high. Her faith in God and her unwavering trust have been amazing. She used her love for God as a compass and made her life a reflection of her love and devotion to Him.
In addition to her husband, Mildred is survived by her children, Alexandra B. Hallock and her husband Eugene of Albany, NY; Marsha L. Biernat of Brighton, Ma; Gregory J. Biernat of Oklahoma City OK, Michael S. Biernat and his wife, Denise of Bellingham, Mass; and Jeffrey E. Biernat and his wife Mardi of Lansdale, Pa.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hallock Coleman and her husband, Timothy; Eugene Hallock IV. Alexandra Hallock, Jeffrey Biernat Jr. and Isabella Biernat.
Mildred also leaves behind her sisters, Dorothy Fosle and Daisy Kozar of Lansing Ill. Sister-in-laws, Evelyn Radcliffe, Clara Fonfara, Theresa (Harry) Berberian, Estelle Biernat, brother-in-law Herbert Juskiewicz, and nieces, nephews, and Goddaughter who dearly love their aunt Millie.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 11 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. Franklin at 8:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery, St. Mary’s, Franklin, Massachusetts.
