Cheryl Y. Kiser was born in Charlotte, NC on March 17, 1964 to Rosetta (Odom) Kiser and the late Ira W. Kiser, Jr. While still an infant, her family moved to Boston where Cheryl spent her youth. In Boston, Cheryl attended St. Francis DeSales Elementary School.
Cheryl had a love and passion for singing and was very active in Zion Fire Baptized Holiness Church of Boston where she was a member of the Youth Choir, The Zion Gospelettes. In addition to singing Cheryl had a love for dance, to this end,she attended the Elmer Lewis School of Fine Arts where she trained in Modern Dance and African Cultural Dance.
Cheryl and her family subsequently relocated to Brockton, MA where she attended West Junior High and Brockton High School.
Cheryl exemplified the character of a “Real Warrior” and a “Caring Spirit”, always willing to help anyone in need. Cheryl was a fine example of Galatians 5:22, that identifies the fruitage of the spirit- love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness and faith. Cheryl was also a “Free Spirit”-who did her own thing. Throughout her lifetime, Cheryl always displayed true compassion towards others.
Cheryl leaves to mourn her loss but celebrate her life three children Michael Kiser Addison of Concord, NH; Kamara Kiser of Brockton, MA and Shala Kiser of Boston, MA; also her mother and confidant Rosetta Addison of Charlotte, NC; three brothers Darryl Kiser, Aaron Kiser and LeMont Addison all of Brockton; one devoted aunt Carolyn Cashwell of Boston and three honorary sisters Kim LeClair, Janice Thompson Rainey and Bridget Strathers all of Brockton and a host of relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 12 noon with visitation 11-12.
