Margaret B. (Dillon) Buckley, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at her home in Charlestown following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59 years old.
Margaret was born in Boston on September 6, 1948. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1966. Margaret was a homemaker who loved taking care of her husband and most importantly her children.
Margaret is the beloved wife of Boston Firefighter Gerard W. Buckley. She is the devoted mother of Meghan and William Buckley both of Charlestown. She is the beloved sister of William Dillon, Bernard Dillon and his wife Mary all of Charlestown, Robert Dillon and his wife Mary of Wilmington and John Dillon and his companion Dorothy Harris of Charlestown. She is the loving aunt of Bernard Jr. and David Dillon, Noreen Buckley, Mary, Kelly and Robert Dillon Jr., Ryan, Jeffrey, Jill and Matthew Buckley, Gwen Murphy, and the late John and Jimmy Dillon.
Margaret's Funeral will be held on Saturday February 9, 2008 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Margaret will be on Friday February 8, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
