Worcester—Astrid L. (Otterson) Crockett, 92, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center of Westboro. Her husband of 30 years, Earl Putman Crockett, died in 1975. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Pontus and Julia Maria (Svenson) Otterson. She was a graduate of North High School and New England Institute. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Anna Circle (LCW), Fairlawn Hospital Auxiliary, Shrewsbury Historical Society, Bach Society, Worcester Art Museum, Worcester Women’s Club, and Worcester Country Club. She was a Visiting Nurses volunteer for 25 years.
She leaves two sons, Bradford Allen Crockett and his wife Joan C., of Sharon and David Putnam Crockett and his wife, Joan M., of Barrington, IL; a sister, Elvira G. (Otterson) Kimball, of Northboro; a brother, Gunner H. Otterson, of Auburn; three grandchildren, Karen Shadbegian, Bradford Crockett, Jr., and Gretchen Butler; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 great, great-grandchildren. A brother, Paul S. Otterson, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9 with burial of ashes at 10:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service in the Nave of Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester, MA 01609. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. is directing arrangements.
