Walter V. "Wally" Haley

TEWKSBURY - Walter V. "Wally" Haley, age 81, a retired Tewksbury town employee, died Wednesday afternoon at Saint's Medical Center in Lowell, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Lightfoot) Haley, who died in 1987.
He was born in Lowell, on October 20, 1926, a son of the late Richard J. and Sadie (Anderson) Haley. He moved to Tewksbury in the 1940's. He was a Town of Tewksbury, Water Department, heavy equipment operator for over 37 years when he retired in 1989.
In his later years, he was a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center, and was a life-member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
Wally leaves a daughter, Lisa Purcell of Lawrence, and many friends throughout the Merrimack Valley.
His Funeral Service was held Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the funeral home. Burial followed at Lowell Cemetery.
