Norma M. (Bradshaw) (Ward) DeRego 83, died Monday February 4th in Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of the late C. Richard Ward and Edward J. DeRego.
Born and brought up in Whitman she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Howarth) Bradshaw, and a graduate of Whitman High School.
Norma previously lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Lyme, NH before settling in Wareham and worked as a waitress, as well as a hostess in many restaurants including Lander’s in Lebanon, NH, Bert’s of Plymouth, Lobster Bowl of Wareham and most recently Lindsay’s of Buzzard’s Bay.
She was a member of the Ladies Golf League of Little Harbor Country Club in Wareham where she enjoyed golfing.
She also enjoyed her family, friends and having a good time.
She is survived by her sons Michael Ward and his wife Christine of Monument Beach, Charles Ward and his wife Arlene of Burnham, ME, John Ward and his wife Carol of Bradford, VT, and Edward DeRego and his wife Kelly of Lyme, NH. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas Ward and Scott DeRego and sister of the late Clinton, Samuel, John, Edwin and Lester Bradshaw, Florence Ryan and Beatrice Coughlin.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday February 9th at 2:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held two hours prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 PM.
