William Paul Roberson, 87, of Water Valley, MS, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born May 26, 1920 to the late Thomas Guy and Clara Lingle Roberson in Cairo, IL. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and served in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at Borg Warner and then served as the City Manager for Water Valley. Mr. Roberson was a Rotarian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS where he was a Sunday School Teacher.
The visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS, with Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Roberson is survived by a daughter, Paula R. Hall of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Olive Parker; a brother, Guy Roberson; a grandson, Kevin Hall and wife Denise of Bruce, MS; three great grandsons, Tyler, Trey, & Trent Hall all of Bruce, MS.
Along with his parents, Mr. Roberson was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Holt Roberson on April 12, 2005.
