Mrs. Christina (Panagiotopoulos) Matson, fell asleep to the Lord, February 1, 2008, in Houston, Texas.
She was born on May 1, 1920, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late George and Maria (Filios) Panagiotopoulos.
Wife to the late Nicholas John Matson. Mrs Matson was the proprietor of The Towne Shoppe for many years. Living in Boca Raton, Florida, Christina's career was dedicated to women's fashion, a field she excelled in until her retirement.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.
She is survived by two sons, Nicholas and wife, Patti Matson of Spring, Texas, and John and wife, Jan Matson of Manhattan Beach, California; grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren, Jonathan and Christopher; brother, Aristomenes and wife, Mary Panos; and sisterin-law, Marie Panos; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death her sisters, Athena Venizelos, Toula Mekras, Stella Karras, and brothers, Stavros and Perry Panos.
Friends will be received at he M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell at 11 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Holy Trinity Church, Lewis St Lowell, MA 01854.
