Laura Scott Kling, 66 of Fitzgerald died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Ralph Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Kling was born December 6, 1941 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Clinton and Laura Virginia Doles Scott. She grew up in Ocilla graduating from Irwin County High School in 1960 and lived in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties most of her life. Ms. Kling was a former employee of Willetts Truck Stop and the Osceola Restaurant in Ocilla, SWS Sports Wear and the Family Steak House in Fitzgerald. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County.
She is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Jeffery & Sherry Kling of Ray City; daughters and son-in-law, Georgia Reese and Laurie & Al Cook all of Fitzgerald; 9 grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline Tucker of Fitzgerald and Betty Carol & Bobby Grimsley of Orange Park, FL. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Scott and sister, Voncille Melton.
